ECOMIG is a trojan horse designed for the eventual usurpation of the Gambia’s sovereignty. It is, de facto, an occupation force circumventing both the Gambian constitution, international best practice (Status of Forces Agreements), and the AU Peace/Security Council protocols. France is underwriting the ECOMIG adventure in the Gambia, and French investment banks are underwriting the oil drilling at Sangomar/A2 blocks (transboundary natural resources). Financing the Gambia’s needs for food security, sustainable energy supply, functional healthcare system and education far outweighs any tenuous “stabilizing mission” in Gambia.

We shall explore these three urgent questions:
1. Is there an ECOMIG mission creep from its original design since 2017?
2. Is the current Gambia Armed Forces a “repressive mechanism” according to Barrow’s ECOWAS statement?
3. Is ECOMIG a “stabilizing factor” in the Gambia’s security architecture or a redundancy serving a sinister ulterior motive?
It is time for civil resistance against the unabating onslaught of humiliation by the Senegalese crooks in Dakar and their useful idiots in Banjul. The Gambia is already a failed state and in a serious crisis.
